Dr. Melissa Reinke

Chiropractor | Clinic Owner

I help people navigate pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and chronic pain, empowering them to reconnect with their bodies through practical, compassionate care.

I graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2011 and have been privileged to live and work in Calgary ever since.

My clinical focus spans Pregnancy and Postpartum care, Perimenopause and Menopause, as well as chronic pain management. I love guiding and empowering my patients through these personal life transitions, helping them understand their bodies and feel confident in their journey toward health and balance.

My care is guided by advanced training, including certification as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. I offer dedicated menopause consultations with the goal of providing timely, informed support and helping to offload demand from an already overburdened medical system- so patients can access answers, education, and care without unnecessary delays.

I am also a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PPCES) and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), with additional training in Cesarean birth recovery. This training informs my work with patients experiencing complex and chronic postpartum conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, and discogenic neuropathy. It brings me deep satisfaction to provide clarity and solutions to those who have struggled for years (often for decades) with postpartum symptoms.

Born and raised in rural Alberta, I’ve lived in Edmonton and Toronto before settling in Calgary, which I now happily call home. My husband and I welcomed our daughters in 2018 and 2021, and thanks to his support, I’m able to do what I love most- be present as a mom while also building a business I care deeply about.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors- going for walks, camping, skiing, and fishing whenever I can. I’m also an avid reader, and love to sew, knit, crochet and woodwork.

Physiotherapist

I’m a pelvic health and orthopaedic physiotherapist with a passion for helping people understand their pain and feel empowered in their recovery.

My name is Shilpa and I'm a Pelvic health and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist. After moving to Canada in 2014, I continued my Physiotherapy career and was fortunate to receive further training and mentorship in the area of Chronic pain management, pelvic floor rehabilitation, Endometriosis rehabilitation, pregnancy and pelvic girdle pain, breastfeeding support and infant Physiotherapy. I developed my passion for pelvic health while living with my own pelvic pain experience and navigating through the journey of recovery.

I offer Physiotherapy for pelvic pain conditions, pain with physical intimacy, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and constipation. I have a special interest in helping clients thrive through their journey around pregnancy and postpartum, supporting them with preparation for labour and delivery, and safe return to activities in the postpartum period.

I offer Physiotherapy support for moms and babies who are breast and/or bottle feeding. This includes Positioning and hold, torticollis, neck and jaw muscles, Plagiocephaly, mastitis and plugged duct.

I have 15+years of experience working with clients with Orthopedic conditions such as hypermobility and EDS, low back pain, shoulder pain, arthritic conditions and sports injuries. I am certified through the Ehlers-Danlos Society ECHO program for Allied Health Professionals.

I provide a safe space for clients to share their story, learn about their bodies, make decisions on their health goals that are meaningful to them, and actively participate in their treatment plan. I believe in working along side clients to identify the root cause of the problem and use a whole person approach for treatment.

Outside clinic, I enjoy long walks with my fur baby, Jasper and spending time outdoors with my husband and daughter.

Naturopathic Doctor

I provide evidence-informed naturopathic care with a focus on hormones, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

I graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, and practiced in Vancouver for nearly four years before deciding to move my family back to Calgary. I work with all patients and all conditions but have a practice focus on hormones & weight loss, pregnancy/postpartum, infertility, menopause, and graceful aging. I am an evidence informed practitioner, so your care is based on scientific research, my clinical experience and your own data and labs.

I am trained in acupuncture, auricular (ear) acupuncture, IV vitamin therapy & Bowen Therapy and like to include these physical therapies along with nutritional counselling, herbs and supplements to bring your body back into balance.

I myself am a new mom of two, and throughout my pregnancy (with a surprising case of gestational diabetes), I realized how much more support is needed on top of the conventional 15 minute doctor visits. I am passionate about helping women through these big life transitions- pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.

When I am not in the clinic, you can find me spending time with my family, outdoors, working out or exploring Calgary's food scene.

Acupuncturist

I use acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to support pain management, nervous system regulation, and menstrual health across the lifespan.

I graduated from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Calgary) and the Mian Yang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) in 2010. Since then, I have been practicing in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Over the years, I have enjoyed treating a wide range of health concerns including pain, digestive health, mental health, and ADHD/nervous system regulation.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are exceptional for regulating the menstrual cycle, and I am passionate about helping women and menstruating people find natural ways to achieve balance. From puberty to menopause, TCM has a rich history of treating menstrual health, and it is one of my favorite areas to work in. So I am thrilled to be joining Naturally Balanced and the other practitioners who also enjoy helping menstruating folx naturally balance their cycles.

Additionally, I am dedicated to supporting individuals in transition, offering care for those experiencing gender dysphoria, preparing for surgery, and aiding in post-surgery recovery.

I grew up here in Calgary, spending most of my youth in the country with my horses or hiking in our beautiful mountains. Though I don't currently have horses, you can often find me hiking in the mountains, enjoying music or theater events with my partner, or playing RPGs or hanging out with friends.

I am thrilled to be part of the incredible team at Naturally Balanced, a safe and inclusive clinic.

Registered Clinical Social Worker
Currently on Medical Leave

I offer integrative, trauma-informed therapy that supports healing across mind and body, through life transitions and emotional challenges.

"People who suppress themselves really suffer"- Gabor Mate

As an integrative therapist, I am fascinated by the interplay of mind-body-spirit and the impact of familial, social, and cultural environments on our health and wellness. My intrinsic goal in working together is to guide, witness and companion your journey towards the uncovering of your authentic Self- identifying your strengths and unwrapping the conditioned thought, behavioral, and somatic patterns that can suppress and mask the true essence of you.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, I bring a deeply compassionate and holistic approach to therapy- blending the best of Western psychology with Eastern wisdom traditions. I have trained in a variety of specialized therapies including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Family & Systemic Constellation, EMDR and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy). I also interweave somatic approaches such as Polyvagal Theory, Himalayan Vedic Yoga practices, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

My clinical focus is supporting clients through trauma, grief, addiction, chronic pain, relationships and life transition. I hold a special interest in working with attachment and early developmental trauma, with a specialty in the area of women’s health and fertility/ perinatal care.

Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas. I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. I also have a Diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (Body Intelligence) and am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist with the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists. I am a graduate of SATTVA Yoga Academy (Rishikesh, India) having completed both a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training and current enrolment in 85 hr Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training.

Holding a deep respect for the intelligence of the human system, together we will seek to move your entire being towards a state of balance and wholeness. It will be a sincere privilege to hold a safe container as you courageously step towards the sacred exploration of your being.

Registered Massage Therapist

I provide therapeutic massage focused on relieving pain, restoring movement, and helping clients actively participate in their recovery.

I graduated with honours from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in Calgary, AB. As a former competitive dancer, I'm all too familiar with injuries and how effective massage therapy can be in the recovery process. After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, with a concentration in choreography and performance, I found my interest in the human body and how it functions and moves.

I'm skilled in a variety of techniques including therapeutic, deep tissue, trigger point release, joint mobilization, myofascial stretching and relaxation massage- bringing passion and expertise to every treatment. My goal is to identify underlying patterns such as muscle imbalances, postural changes and movement dysfunctions that lead to pain-tension cycles, and subsequently create an individualized treatment plan to address clients’ concerns. I like to educate my clients in customized self-care, empowering them to be active participants in their healing process and continued recovery. Influenced by my years of training and passion for exercise, I believe that movement is often the right medicine for combating aches and pains.

I've recently added dynamic cupping as a treatment option to include with your massage. This unique modality increases blood flow to the tissue, releases fascia that can otherwise be difficult to treat, and improves overall muscle function. It also feels great!

In addition to my massage therapy services, I'm also a certified Laser Therapist. Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, light based treatment that impacts tissue on a cellular level. It is highly effective for the treatment of pain, inflammation, nerve regeneration, and scar repair. It's a great option for treating arthritic conditions, neuropathy, sprain/strain injuries, and for post cesarean scar healing.

In my spare time you can find me in the mountains hiking, backpacking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and camping and spending time with my partner and dog.

Registered Massage Therapist

I support people through all stages of life with intuitive massage therapy, with a special focus on prenatal, postpartum, and birth-informed care.

I'm a registered massage therapist with years of experience under my belt. I first started my massage journey in 2008, then took a few years off before returning to school to complete my second year.

Along with my ability to help with most conditions and work intuitively to promote a healthier body, I also work closely with expecting families, assisting them during the prenatal and postpartum period.

I am certified as both a birth and postpartum doula, and am VBAC certified. I'm also a Perinatal Educator and have created a course with my fellow doula bestie called 'Born Ready, Preparing for Birth and Beyond'.

I have my infant massage teachers certificate, and a love for all things pregnancy, birth, and beyond. I'm currently enrolled in hypnobirthing, and am continuously completing small workshops to fine tune my skills.

Whether you are an elite athlete, an expecting mom, or a "desk-jockey", I've seen it all and would love to work with you.

Office Manager

I help keep the clinic running smoothly and enjoy being part of a team that truly supports and cares for its patients.

I enjoy being a small part of the Naturally Balanced team as an office manager in my semi-retirement. It is rewarding to see the benefits patients experience.

In the past I have worked in the banking industry, built cabinets in a trailer factory, and provided health and safety audits for hotels in Alberta. I spent the last 17 years as a library manager in a small village.

My husband and I moved to Calgary in 2020 to be closer to family. We are thrilled to be able to watch our granddaughters grow up.

I enjoy baking, sewing, reading, camping and exploring what Calgary has to offer. For pets I have three senior chinchillas.
