Prenatal Massage

Massage Care Thoughtfully Designed for Pregnancy

Prenatal massage is designed to address the unique physical demands of pregnancy, helping to reduce discomfort, support mobility, and improve overall wellbeing. While it promotes relaxation, prenatal massage is also a therapeutic treatment, targeting areas of tension, supporting circulation, and helping your body adapt to the changes of pregnancy.

Our massage therapists are certified in prenatal massage and are integral members of your healthcare team. They tailor each session to your needs, considering any complications or pregnancy-related concerns, and know not only what to treat, but when to treat—and when to refer to your primary care provider. This ensures your care is safe, individualized, and fully supportive of your overall health and wellbeing.

Whether you’re experiencing back or hip pain, swelling, or general muscle tension, prenatal massage can help ease discomfort while supporting your body through this important stage.

Reasons People Seek Care

Our Approach to Care

Each prenatal massage begins with a brief assessment to understand your current comfort, areas of tension, and any pregnancy-related concerns. This ensures that your session is tailored specifically to your needs, supporting both comfort and therapeutic benefit.

As pregnancy progresses, lying on your stomach may no longer be comfortable or safe. At this time, we change to sidelying positioning, which is supported by the best available evidence to reduce strain on the abdomen and avoid compression of the lower back or pelvis. This approach allows your massage therapist to safely address areas of tension while maintaining your comfort throughout the session.

Our prenatal massage therapists are certified and trained to adapt techniques for each stage of pregnancy. They work as part of your broader healthcare team, monitoring for any concerns that may need attention and referring to your primary care provider when appropriate. Sessions may also include guidance on stretching, posture, and self-care techniques to help you maintain comfort between appointments.
